1Not UsableFeb 05, 2010
I have not been able to install the software from the disk on either XP or Vista. It says that it can not find the drivers even when I direct it to the Drivers folder on the disk that came with the device. For me it is a total loss.

5Perfect for video capture on a budgetJul 22, 2009
The Gamebridge is tough to find now that it's been discontinued, but I'm glad I took the time to look. Installation is a snap, and the included software is intuitive and easy to use. When you capture video, stick with the "Best" quality setting; it's not quite HD, but for posting videos on YouTube or for common PC viewing, it's more than good enough. Audio quality of captured videos is mostly good--a little funkiness here and there, but no reason to panic. I'd read several complaints about the audio lagging behind the video during capture, but so far, I haven't seen this happen. If you're running a PC with a dual-core CPU and a strong video card, you should have no trouble.

I've also heard a lot of complaints about InterVideo, but it's not that bad as long as you're just going to capture video "as-is." However, if you plan on doing any editing and you're tech-savvy, you're better off using VirtualDub instead because (a) it's freeware, and (b) it captures to AVI format, which gets along best with editing software like Adobe Premiere.

Overall, if you're looking to capture good-quality video and you're on a tight budget (and if you can find one), it's tough to go wrong with a Gamebridge.

4If you need a way to record video on your TV, you can't go wrong with this.Jan 09, 2009
Unless you use a TV tuner of something of the sort, the Gamebridge is the perfect solution. By connecting the r/y/w cables to your TV and the USB to your computer, you can easily record video from your TV to your PC. You can even use it to record your favorite shows and watch it on your PC.

There is a few gripes I had about it though...

First of all, by setting it up, unless you have a Video/Audio IN/OUT via your TV or other means, the only way you'll be able to both see and record is only on your PC. By all means, the PC screen isn't very good to look at while recording. (especially if you're playing something)

If you use the IN/OUT connectors on your TV, however, you can simultaneously play on your TV and record on your PC.

Another one would be that since it only uses R/B/Y cables, you won't be getting hi-def from newer televisions.

Lastly, the video screen size changes depending on the quality you use. High quality tends to make the screen really small, however, if you were to use this for say... YouTube videos, it would look great.

All and all, I recommend this.
