4Fun game with a FPS (First Person Shooter) feel..Mar 08, 2010
Just beat the game and I have to say that the main story was top notch. There are a lot of side quests that you can do, but the main story takes about 20hrs to complete.

Main points:

- Even though this is an RPG, it's still a FPS when it comes to combat. The story and extras can overcome that, but if you dont like those types of games, it will be real hard to let Mass Effect sink in.

- If you plan on playing Mass Effect 2, it's better if you start with this game so you've got a good understanding of the action. Not to mention that your decisions will affect future games in this line, contributing to a more continuous play time.

- There is some slow down in game play when it gets really hectic. Those moments seemed to be few and far between though.

- Plenty of replay if you want to experience multiple scenarios (i.e. your first character is a saint while on your next play thru, you can be the biggest A hole the galaxy has ever seen).

Overall, very good game and I'll be looking to pick up ME 2 after I complete Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Age (another BioWare title - fantasy theme).

5MASSive FunMar 08, 2010
I bought this game just to try it out, I had heard a lot of good on it and decided why not. That and with the release of Mass Effect 2 I figured I'd give the series a try. Now I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big fan of FPS games, but Mass Effect drew me in quickly and kept me hooked straight through Mass Effect 2. A good investment in my book.

4Great game, but could use some tweakingMar 07, 2010
This is an incredible game. This was my first rpg, but i felt like i was being eased into it, as the gunplay is about as good as any third person shooter out there. Great exploration, sidequests, the like. The plot is well written(almost as well written as the kick ass dialogue)the only reasons that this does not get the full five stars are-

a). the driving. I dont know a single person who's played mass effect who thinks the driving in this game doesn't suck. it wouldnt matter that much that the driving mechanics are so horrible, were it not for the fact that you have to drive SO MUCH. Almost every side mission and main mission requires the use of the Mako.

b.) theres alot of glitches in it. i have ended up stuck outside an elevator, and having to start from the beggining of the mission. twice.(what do you excpect, its an EA game.)

All in all, bioware has made an amazing game, and, the few problems with this one have been fixed with mass effect 2. I highly reccomend this product for anyone who wants a really good sci-fi rpg for 360 for a really affordable price.

4Mass Effect ReviewMar 07, 2010
if you want a game thats going to be worth your money this is it a 30 or more hour game with alot to do and a great concept only cons are it can be overwhelming at time where u have no idea what to do first since you get so many options and if your not a fan of making decisions in games then this isnt for u becouse u make every decision everytime you talk also saving the game is sort of a problem some times it wont let u save manually like if your in the middle of a fight and the auto save saves way back so if you mess up you have to redo that whole mission from the start and another thing traveling to different planets feels the same as all the other planets you travel to just a different color but practically the same aside from those minor things this i rate this game 4 stars our of 5 worth every penny

This game harkens back to the days of PC computer games. It contains all of the little nuances that made me want to play computer games in the first place. The interaction with characters, the puzzles the general feel just takes me back--excellent game play.
